Cleansing Lotions for All Skin Types

One of the newest types of facial cleansers to hit the market are cleansing lotions. They are more gentle than soap, but still whisk away dirt and makeup to leave clean, smooth skin. Many people with sensitive skin turn to cleansing lotions or even oils for effective cleansing that is not drying and does not cause skin reactions. In the category with cleansing oils and lotions are also cleansing milks. There is no lather but the skin is cleansed as if it were washed with soap.

La Mer, a highly renowned company, makes a lotion for cleansing the skin that is applied, massaged in with warm water then rinsed off. The result is clean skin that still has moisture. This product can also be tissued off, however skin should still be rinsed a few times. While this product is by no means cheap, it is highly rated by users and something you may want to splurge on if you are able to do so. The entire La Mer product line is expensive but highly regarded for its quality. And, a little dab goes a long way.

Another lotion on the market made to clean the skin that is far more affordable for most than La Mer is Mario Badescu Chamomile Cleansing Lotion. This product works much like a toner in that it is applied with cotton pads and not washed off. For puffy eyes or red skin you can soak cotton pads in this lotion and use them as a soothing compress. If you like this product you may also like Green Tea and Ginkgo Cleansing Lotion by Aubrey Organics. Green Tea is wonderfully nourishing for the face and body.

Its nourishing ingredients are ideal for every age and the skin is left smooth, clean, oil-free and gently fragranced. As you can see, there are a wide variety of cleansing lotions on the market today. The ones profiled in this article represent only a handful of brands and products available. If you have never tried this type of product it is worth doing as you may find a lotion cleanser better suited to your skin than soap.
